DESIGNED TO CHANGE

SAINT & JÉAN jewellery is hand-assembled to order in London from chains, clasps, charms, pearls and stones sourced through specialist suppliers. We use gold-plated and rhodium-plated brass, freshwater pearls and gemstones.

The design does more than change the surface. Front lock clasps allow pendants to be removed. Charms can be changed. Selected chains can be worn in three or six configurations.

Making each piece after its design and configuration are chosen means we do not need to pre-make every possible version. It does not make production waste-free, and we do not present it that way.

WHAT WE CAN PROVE

Our components are held centrally, then assembled and checked once an order is placed. This limits the amount of completed jewellery waiting for a buyer, but it is only one part of the picture.

Our supply chain includes businesses in India, China, the UK and the US. Plated metals, stones, pearls, international freight and packaging all have an environmental impact.

MATERIALS, CARE AND LONGEVITY

Natural pearls and gemstones vary in shape, colour and surface, so these differences are treated as part of the finished piece rather than flaws to disguise. Where specified, plated components are finished with a protective e-coating, and every order includes care guidance to help preserve its appearance. We are still developing product-specific durability testing, so we do not make blanket promises about how long every piece will last.

PLANET

AS A SMALL BUSINESS, CARING FOR THE PLANET IS CENTRAL TO OUR MISSION EVEN WITH LIMITATIONS ON BUDGET AND SCALE.WE ARE COMMITTED TO DEMONSTRATING SUSTAINABILITYTHROUGH BOTH OUR PRODUCTS AND OPERATIONS.

TRANSPARENCY, NOT EMPTY CLAIMS

We do not currently have a verified carbon assessment, so we do not describe Saint & Jéan as carbon-neutral or zero-waste. We are also reviewing our packaging materials and suppliers. Until their composition and disposal routes are properly documented, we will not make recyclability claims.

MEASURING WHAT MATTERS

We are still at an early stage in understanding our full environmental footprint. Our next step is to document it properly, from packaging and freight to rejected components, so future changes are based on evidence rather than assumption.
